Medical assistant

Duties and responsibilities:

Medical assistants help physicians and nurses deliver patient care. They also schedule appointments, to take blood pressure, respiratory checks, and temperatures for the patient’s well being. Some of this medical assistants work in hospitals, clinics, and private offices.

Average salary:

$17,000 - $18,000

Educational requirements:


Students should complete high school with their courses in biology, physical science, office managements, and communication with the human relation. Some of the medical assistant training programs are provided by community colleges and for-profit technical training schools.

Licensed practical nurses

Duties and responsibilities:

 Licensed practical nurses care for the injured, handicapped, and the sick patients. Some of the routine duties they have are taking the patients temperatures, blood pressures, and their pulses. Also what they do is give injections, changing the patient’s cloth and give them baths.  Some practical nurses work in private homes.
Average salary: $16,000 - $23,000

Educational requirements:

Sometimes high school diplomas and GED certificate are not even required to access a job like this although it is encouraging to have one. Some educational requirements are to attend training programs that are state approved and are offered by hospitals, vocational schools, junior colleges, and private colleges.
I would want to be one because I someone who likes to help the need.

Home health aide
Duties and responsibilities:
Home health aides usually work for different companies that provide in-home assistance to the people that are ill, injured disabled, and the elderly people. Some of their duties are to take blood pressure test, temperatures, and check the pulse of patients. They also help patients take baths, get out of bed, they help them dress.
Average salary: $8,000 - $18,000
Education requirements:
Most of the people that get hired have their high school diploma or their GED certificate. Also some community colleges offer training programs.

Dental assistant

Duties responsibilities:

Dental assistants help dentist provide dental hygienists and laboratory technicians. They may work in health clinics, dental schools, nursing homes, and the military, but usually they work for dentist in private practice. Dental assistant duties include:
Ø Helping patients feel comfortable during treatment.
Ø Taking and developing dental x-rays.
Ø Taking medical histories for patients.
Ø Sterilizing and preparing dental instruments and equipment.
Ø Instructing patients about dental health care include brushing and flossing.
Ø Performing office management tasks.
Ø Average salary:
$14,000 - $25,000

Educational requirements:
Dental assistants must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
They must receive additional training at a community college, vocational school, or dental school to learn their skills. Length of programs varies between six months and one year. To become certified, dental assistants must pass an examination from the dental assisting national board.

Nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists are advanced practice registered nurses who have received special courses and training. They usually work closely with doctors and can perform many high-level primary care tasks. They often specialize in specific types of practice such as pediatrics, psychiatry, or obstetrics. Some establish private practices; however, most work in doctors’ offices, hospitals, or neighborhood health centers. Duties often include:
·       Taking detailed medical histories and performing complete physical exams.
·       Providing diagnoses and recommending treatment plans.
·       Treating common medical conditions, illnesses and injuries.
·       Prescribing limited medications.
·       Counseling patients and families.
Average salary: $39,000 - $70,000
Educational requirements:
Students should take the most challenging high school courses in science, math, and English.
Students must complete all of the education requirements to become a baccalaureate prepared registered nurse. They must then complete additional master’s level training and pass a certification examination.
