Oral Care Professional

Duties and responsibilities:

Dental hygienists provide treatment for any oral health problems or issues. They also promote dental health and educate many patients. The places they work in are sometimes in health departments, nursing homes, or school districts but are mainly put in private dental offices and clinics.

Dental hygienists do:
Ø Screen patients for dentist
Ø Take a develop radiographs
Ø Perform dental office management duties.
Ø Remove plaque from teeth.

Educational requirements:

Dental professionals must have a high school diploma or a GED certificate before participating in a dental hygiene education program. Dental hygienists earn an associate’s degree at a community college or a private school. To practice, they must earn a license by passing the dental hygiene national board examination.

Average salary:
$22,000 - $35,000


Reflection: I wouldn’t like to become one because I’m not that interested.
