Duties and responsibilities
Osteopathic physicians use accepted methods to treat different
injuries and diseases. Although they practice in all branches of medicine and
surgery like an allopathic physician they differ in emphasizing the importance
of the musculoskeletal system. They use a hands-on approach to medicine, proper
nutrition, and environmental factors in maintaining a good health. They are
medicine experts and general practitioners.
Average salary: $110,000
Educational requirements:
Students should be taking the most challenging courses in
high school for example in science, math, and in English. After three or four
years of college they must attend a medical school. Undergraduates require
admissions to all medical schools including one year of basic chemistry, one
year of organic chemistry, one year of biology, and one year of physics. Medical
schools usually include two years of additional study in clinical science and
in hospital internship for about a year-long.
