Radiologic
technologist
Duties and responsibilities
Radiologic technologists use x-ray machines ultrasounds,
magnetic resonance scanners, and other advanced technology machines. These
machines help diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries under the direction of
a physician. They are responsible for getting patients ready to take a test and
treatment that will be performed. It is their
responsibility that the equipment is ready and capable of being used. They work
in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, medical laboratories, and private
industries.
Average salary
$24,000 - $36,000
Educational requirements
Students should take the most challenging courses in science,
math, and English in high school. To become registered radiologic technologist,
students must complete a two year program in a hospital or school. A high
school diploma or GED certificate is required for entry into the programs.
I would like to become one to know how to use advanced
equipment.
