Student success statement
“I would prefer
even to fail with honor than win by cheating”
Sophocles
What I think this
quote means is that failing honorably is a better feeling than winning but by
cheating. It feels better because when you cheat you know you are lying and
cheating and you will probably feel guilty and that guilt will be with you
until you die. But if you fail with honor it won’t matter because you did your
best and you didn’t cheat. Lastly failing with honor shows other people that they
are a trustworthy and respectful person.
For example if
there is a test and you didn’t study just fail with honor and face the consequences
rather than cheat on that test.
