responsibilities:
Communicate
with patients to evaluate their levels or language difficulty. Determine the
extent of communication problems by having a patient complete basic reading and
vocalization tasks. They identify the treatment options. For treatments they
give patients is typically show patients how to improve sounds and their voices.
They teach alternative communication methods and work on patient’s ability to
read and write.

Educational requirements:
For
education they must have a master’s degree in speech-language. Certain courses/classes
must be taken to enter into a master’s program. Must be licensed in almost
every state and license requires a minimum of a master’s degree in supervised
clinical experience.
